WARRANTY STATEMENT
SCHMITT MARINE
Schmitt Marine warrants its products described in the following product categories below according to the limited terms described therein. Schmitt Marine shall be responsible solely to repair or replace, at the discretion of Schmitt Marine, any product conforming to the conditions of the warranty. This warranty shall be void for product found to be subject to improper installation, accidental damage, misuse, neglect, or improper treatment.
Steering Wheels
Stainless Steel Steering Wheels Lifetime Warranty – Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer against any defects in material or workmanship of the stainless steel steering wheels for the lifetime of the product. Along with proper installation, care and cleaning, we further fully guarantee the mechanical integrity and bright finish of our stainless steel steering wheels to the original consumer for the lifetime of the product. Special coatings and finishes (including but not limited to PU foam grips, PVC foam coating, powder coatings, paints, varnishes, and hydrographic coatings) shall be warranted for two years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than three years from the date of sales to original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Proof of Purchase or validation as original consumer required upon request.
Polyurethane Steering Wheels – Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer against any defects in material or workmanship of Polyurethane Steering Wheels with aluminum spokes for a period of three years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than four years from the date of sales to original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Special coatings and finishes (including but not limited to PU foam grips, PVC foam coating, powder coatings, paints, varnishes, and hydrographic coatings) shall be warranted for two years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than three years from the date of sales to original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Proof of Purchase required upon request.
Plastic Steering Wheels -- Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer against any defects in material or workmanship of Plastic (including but not limited to Polyethylene) Steering Wheels for a period of two years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than three years from the date of sales to original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Proof of Purchase required upon request.
Dedication to Quality -- We conform to strict standards of quality control from the original raw material procurement until final packaging. In addition, every steering wheel is thoroughly tested for strength and dependability in the design and development stage and then sample tested in production runs. Registration and Approval Documentation according to the ABYC/NMMA and CE standards are available for our steering wheels.
Marine Accessories and Decorations
Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer against any defects in material or workmanship of marine accessories a period of two years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than three years from the date of sales to original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Special coatings and finishes (including but not limited to PU foam grips, PVC foam coating, powder coatings, paints, varnishes, and hydrographic coatings) and shall be warranted for two years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than three years from the date of sales to OE manufacturer or distributor. Proof of Purchase required upon request.
Stainless Steel Horns Five Year Limited Warranty
Schmitt Marine offers a five (5) year limited warranty on all its electric horns to the original purchaser. The five (5) year warranty anti-rust and corrosion applies to the stainless steel horn components only. Schmitt Marine shall be obligated to repair or replace at its sole discretion any stainless steel parts that rust or corrode within the five (5) year warranty. Schmitt Marine warrants all internal electrical contacts for the horn to the original purchaser for a period of one (1) year. Schmitt Marine shall be obligated to repair or replace at its sole discretion any parts that fail within the one (1) year warranty. Schmitt Marine may require that the product be returned Schmitt Marine for inspection and disposition. This warranty will not apply to any product that has been modified or altered to affect its intended operation, including but not limited to the trimming of the electrical supply wires to a length of less than six (6) inches from the horn housing. Schmitt Marine will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind. The date of the warranty will begin on the earlier of the date that the product is purchased by the consumer or one year after the date of sale to the original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Proof of Purchase required upon request.
Wiper Motors
Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer for non-commercial use against any defects in material or workmanship of marine wipers motors and arms for a period of three years from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than four years from the date of sale to the original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Any parts that fail within the one year warranty shall be returned to Schmitt Marine for inspection and disposition. This warranty will not apply to any product that has been modified or altered to affect its intended operation. Schmitt Marine will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind. Proof of Purchase required upon request.
Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer for commercial use against any defects in material or workmanship of marine wipers motors for a period of one year from the date of purchase of the original consumer and no more than two years from the date of sale to the original equipment manufacturer or distributor. Any parts that fail within the one year warranty shall be returned to Schmitt Marine for inspection and disposition. This warranty will not apply to any product that has been modified or altered to affect its intended operation. Schmitt Marine will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind. Proof of Purchase required upon request.
Stainless Steel Grab Rails
Schmitt Marine warrants to the original consumer against any defects in material or workmanship of the stainless steel components for the lifetime of the product. Along with proper installation, care and cleaning, we further fully guarantee the mechanical integrity and bright finish of our stainless steel products for the lifetime of the product. Soft grip (material and bonding) is warranted for a period of three years from the date of purchase by the original consumer and no more than four years from the date of sale to OEM manufacturer or distributor. Proof of Purchase or validation as original consumer required upon request.
Warranty Labor Charges
Schmitt Marine shall only be responsible for the repair or replacement of the defective item. Schmitt Marine shall not be responsible for any labor charges to remove or re-install defective product, unless approved in advance in writing by a duly authorized representative of Schmitt Marine.
